What we did – 8 February 2019

Horrible weather outside, but it’s always sunny inside Whitmore Community Centre on Friday afternoon — so we were full. Special thanks for a great afternoon — to volunteers Paul, Chris, Adam and Ashraf from  Financial Conduct Authority via Benefacto – plus regular volunteers Gene, Margaret, Stephen and Tom.

What we did – 18 January 2019

It was very cold outside — but that didn’t prevent 31 people dropping-in. Special thanks to volunteers Daniyal, Heather, Jennifer and Matt from Tideway via Benefacto – plus regular volunteers Gene, Margaret, Stephen and Tom.

What we did – 21 February 2018

As an added activity, we asked everybody to complete the BBC Loneliness Experiment survey, and to test the new Skype number for the podcast. It was impossible to count the successes, but it kept everybody busy.

Special thanks to volunteers James and Terence from Baringa via Benefacto – plus our regular volunteers Michael and Tom.

What we did – 24 January 2018

As usual, we were completely full (30 or more people). The highlight was the beginners word-processing workshop, featuring volunteers Lucy, Mark, Paul, Zaida and 1:1 CV help by Saleha — all from GFT Group via Benefacto.

Special thanks also to our regular volunteers Charlie, Derek, Michael and Tom.

Volunteer Day

Hi everyone,

This was my first day volunteering at the Hackney 50+ Drop-in clinic, and it was brilliant fun – I helped Josh publish his delicious chicken pilaff recipe and did a bit of online shopping with Stan.

It was a pleasure meeting you all, and I hope I can find the time to come back and visit in 2018.

Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!

Robert

What we did – 13 December 2017

Despite life-threatening weather, we had another full house (25 – 30 people) as usual.

Volunteer Tom and project lead Sallie were inconvenienced by weather side-effects. Here’s the ICT Room consolation video …

The Meeting Room consolation messages were even more effusive.

Special thanks to volunteers Charlie and Lauren (lurking in the video background) from Mediacom via Benefacto – plus our regular volunteers Derek and Michael.
